pleasant, helpful staff; convenience for central Sydney
Desk clerks were excellent, friendly, always ready to help. Room attendants did excellent job keeping clean. Location is near shopping, bus lines, train line, but off the beaten track just a bit.
The hotel is well located being close to the entertainments and restaurants of Oxford Street, and in easy walking distance to the centre of the city and Central and Museum Railway stations. The room was spotlessly clean with everything I would expect from good hotel in Australia. The breakfast was good value for money. The staff were courteous and helpful.
The two lifts are small. The flat screen television in my room was affixed to the wall with a metal arm. The mechanism for adjusting the tilt was worn so the television was angled downward and could not be made to stay parallel to the wall.
The room had a balcony, it was clean, beautiful bathroom and all the staff were helpful and friendly.
No couch in our room :( but other than that everything was great.
Our room was lovely and spacious. It was tastefully designed with a pleasant colour scheme. The balcony was an added bonus.
.We were initially told the room was on one of the upper levels but in fact it was on level 4. The room was a little stuffy overnight and when we opened the balcony door to allow in some air it became quite noisy. We didn't find the bar or dining room very appealing and therefore chose to eat elsewhere.
the staff especially Tom and the girls were great very helpful answered all our questions, organised thngs and made lots of suggestions the trainee was excelent
the room was very cramped especially the doorway and bathroom tv had to get fixed and was old,
The politness of the staff and their eye to detail, this included the desk staff and the catering staff
The noise level on 2nd floor throughout the night with other guests using the drink machine at 2200hrs, 0100hrs, 0200hrs, 0300hrs. And again at 0520hrs. Perhaps this machine could be relocated to the foyer. Noise seemed to echo in this area. This led to no sleep on both nights. I would be happy to stay again but on another floor and would recommend the Cambridge to others.
For me as a walker and at the price the location was good.
I was not impressed with the restaurant. I would have preferred Internet access provided free or much cheaper than what was on offer, as a customer service.
comfortable, central and reasonably priced
The lifts are slow and inadequate for a hotel with this many guests. The bathroom refurb was a bit shoddy with slapped up finish to the paint job / tiling / taps.
It is very central and a great place if you are visiting Sydney
When checking out I was told I had to pay a 3% surcharge because I was using a credit card. I had just spent seven travelling New Zealand and Australia and this was the first time this happened.
The location to the city, and especially Oxford Street as I was there for Mardi Gras
The bathroom was not very clean, floor and wall tiles did not look like they had been cleaned in sometime and given the nature of the small stain splash marks, I was unimpressed. The shower curtain was also in need of a clean. Also booked a room for two and got two single beds
As you would be aware we came down for a conference .Iloved the breakfasts very much but the highlight was your excellent air conditioning as i come from central NSW ( very hot!)
I guess you pay for what you get. The only thing going for this hotel is the location - it's close to the city but most of all there is an Irish Pub diagonally across the intersection which is a standout. Great food - great prices! Having said that the staff at the hotel were very helpful & obliging which did impress me.
The car park is a disgrace - it's dangerous, narrow & outrageously expensive. $22 for 4 hours stay - I should have demanded my money back! We thought we were getting a great deal with Booked.net & the suggested massive discount of the asking price - what we paid was definitely not worth what we received - totally overpriced!
Pool was good to play with my family. But, I don't mean that the pool was great.
1. advertised as being 4 minute walk from train station which is clearly not true as I walked it with my luggage. 2. I ordered medium rear steak and got over cooked with a good covering of lumpy gravey: possibly to disguise the steak. 3. clock radio did not work. 4. bedside lamp broke when I attempted to turn it on. 5. television did not work: said that weather was effecting connection!. 6. Have you ever tried to use the shower: how is one supposed to turn them on without gettting wet. A major design factor. Please try it for yourself. 7. The sound proofing is pathetic: one can hear conversations from other rooms in the hallways.
